Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
What happens when you delete your account
When you request account deletion, we permanently remove the following data within 30 days of your request:
- Your profile and authentication credentials
- All linked bank account connections and stored financial data
- Transaction history and categorizations
- Cash flow forecasts, alerts, and AI-generated insights
- Guardian chat history and memory
- Subscription and billing information
- Any other personal data associated with your account
This action is permanent and cannot be undone. Once your data is deleted, it cannot be recovered.
How to delete your account
Option 1: From the app
Open Shelter → Settings → Account → Delete Account. Follow the on-screen confirmation to complete the process.
Option 2: By email
Send an email to privacy@shelter.money with the subject line “Account Deletion Request” from the email address associated with your Shelter account. We will verify your identity and process your request within 30 days.
Active subscriptions
If you have an active subscription, deleting your account will cancel it immediately. You will not be charged again after your account is deleted. Refunds for the current billing period are not provided.
